Prof. Barry: We will then agree to disagree. The Women's Resource Center
has scheduled a second Vagina Monologues event for 7 March at 10 P.M. Thank
you for expressing your concerns. Ken Clarke.
Mr. Clarke: I am glad to know that they have done so, though my concerns
over the administration of Sage remain. I will continue to advocate for
the removal of CURW
from a gatekeeper role for University facilities, as your organization's
actions in this
event, to me and the (so far) unanimous voice of those I've discussed it
with, seems
contrary to the mission of a University such as ours. As the members of
the WRC
and VM effort redouble their work to accomodate this late impediment,
they will no
doubt realize the absolute absurdity of its application and remember
well the agents
responsible for imposing it.
Cordially, Don Barry.
Author's Note I am not a faculty member, though I am a Ph.D. astronomer
at Cornell.
Additional Note at the time of receipt of this letter, the Women's Resource
Center had
not scheduled a second showing, in fact the response was under
active debate and discussion.
